What is the “Fair Ads” program for publishers, and how is it different from “Acceptable Ads?”
- Acceptable Ads (used by some other ad blockers) often require advertisers or publishers to pay the ad blocker to get whitelisted, with no revenue share to the users.
- Fair Ads (Pie’s approach) lets publishers pay the user (100% of it goes to the user) for allowing ads. Pie does not pocket that portion. This fosters a more equitable arrangement—publishers maintain ad revenue, users see fewer but more relevant ads, and they’re compensated for their attention.
