What is the difference between Pie Adblock and Pie Shopping? Do I need both?

There are several key differences between Pie Adblock and Pie Shopping:

  • Pie Adblock: Blocks ads while you browse the web, and includes the optional “Rewards for Ads” feature.
  • Pie Shopping: An extension that automatically finds coupons, passes 100% of affiliate commissions back to users as cash back, and never takes attribution from creators.

Because of Chrome’s “single-purpose” policy, Pie had to split these functionalities into two extensions. You don’t need both, but many users install both to maximize their savings (ad blocking + couponing/cash back). They share the same “Pie Rewards” account, so any points earned from Pie Adblock or from Pie Shopping accumulate in the same balance.

Which browsers and devices does Pie support, and how do I install it?

  • Desktop Browsers: Pie supports Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Brave via the Chrome Web Store. Simply click “Add to Chrome” (or your chosen Chromium-based browser) and follow the prompts.
  • Safari mobile browser (on iPhone): A dedicated Pie app is available in the iOS App Store, which allows you to enable a mobile Safari extension. You must enable it in your iOS device settings by following the included steps. A Safari extension for desktop is coming soon.
  • Android: There is currently no dedicated Android extension. However, you can still use the Pie website or user account to manage rewards, and if you have a desktop device, your account syncs across devices.

Installation generally takes just a few clicks or taps, and you’ll be prompted to create (or log into) a Pie account if you want to earn rewards.
