What is Pie Adblock, and how does it work?

Pie Adblock is a browser extension that blocks unwanted online ads, pop-ups, and trackers. It simultaneously offers an optional feature called “Rewards for Ads,” where you can allow a small number of vetted ads in exchange for cash rewards. 

• Ad Blocking: By default, Pie detects and suppresses most ad types—banners, video pre-rolls, and pop-ups—to provide a cleaner, smoother browsing experience across the web.
• Optional Rewards: If you enable “Rewards for Ads,” Pie will occasionally display a limited number of Pie-approved ads. Each time you view or engage (e.g., click) with these ads, you earn “Pie Rewards Points,” which can be redeemed for cash.
• You’re In Control: If you prefer to see no ads at all, simply keep them blocked. If you want to earn rewards while still having fewer, better-targeted ads, opt into “Rewards for Ads.” You can support your favorite creators and publishers, by enabling ads for them with a single click.
